Synopsis

Panic Room is the Brazilian adaptation of the internationally acclaimed 2002 hit. Starring Isis Valverde and Marianna Santos, the film also features Marco Pigossi, Caco Ciocler, André Ramiro, and Leopoldo Pacheco. Directed by Gabriela Amaral Almeida and written by Fabio Mendes, the screenplay is based on the original script by David Koepp.

A claustrophobic, tension-filled thriller that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end, the story follows a woman (Isis Valverde) and her preteen daughter (Marianna Santos) as they move into a house equipped with a panic room—a hidden safe space designed to protect its occupants in times of danger. When three intruders break into the house, mother and daughter take refuge inside the room, only to discover that it is precisely where the burglars believe the item they are searching for is hidden.

The film had its prestigious world premiere at the 2025 Rio International Film Festival, where it received acclaim from both critics and audiences. In 2026, it premiered on Telecine for subscribers before launching on Globoplay, where it remained among the platform’s Top 10 most-watched films for fifteen consecutive days.
